Blackett joins Reading on permanent deal
Manchester United have sold defender Tyler Blackett to Reading.The 22-year-old leaves his hometown club to sign a three-year deal at the Madjeski Stadium.
Reading boss Jaap Stam said: “As we know, Tyler is a talented defender who has played for United’s first team.
“He can play as a left-back or a left-sided centre-back; he has got great potential in the sense that he is quick and athletic, defensively he is strong and he is good at set-pieces.

Jokanovic could quit Fulham
Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic is fuming at being denied a loan deal for Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.And he will consider quitting the club if his squad is not bolstered by the end of the transfer window.
Jokanovic launched an outspoken attack on Craig Kline, a stats guru and friend of owner Shahid Khan’s son, who is said to have the power to veto any new recruits at Craven Cottage.
And after a loan deal with the 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder had been arranged in principle with United boss Jose Mourinho, data analyst Kline is said to have refused the deal.
After Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Cardiff, which maintained Fulham’s unbeaten start to the Championship season, Jokanovic publicly called out Kline – a pal of owner’s son Tony Khan.
Young Hammer pens new deal
West Ham defender Reece Burke has signed a new four-year contract.The 19-year-old spent last season on loan with League One Bradford but played for the Hammers in last week’s Europa League play-off round first leg against Astra Giurgiu.
Burke told his club’s official website: “Obviously as a West Ham fan as well as a player, it’s fantastic to be involved with the club during this period.
“It’s still sinking in to be honest, the move and the changes here. Over time, I really believe everything will settle in, and it will feel like home very, very soon.”
He continued: “This season for me, another loan move may happen.
“I think I’m going to try and do Championship - the next step - and see how the season goes hopefully playing Championship football and I’ll hopefully get another load of games under my belt.
“I want to build on that experience and come back next year even better, just similarly building like I did last season.”
Benitez uncertain over Janmaat future
Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has admitted they could sell Daryl Janmaat this summer.The Dutchman is still wanted in the north east but Benitez understands that he could leave if a reasonable offer is submitted.
“I told him the other day that the fact he’s here means he’s a player I like,” Benitez said. “He’s a good professional and I don’t have any problems with that.
“If somebody comes with a fantastic offer to us for him, we will analyse that. For the moment he is a player who is in our team and squad and I don’t have any problems to play him if necessary.”
Sevilla extend contract
A little venture into the European game now and there is good news for Sevilla fans.Nico Pareja has renewed his contract with the La Liga club.
The new deal will stretch until 2019.
CBJ gets Wolves squad number
Wolves have confirmed the squad numbers that will be worn by their two new arrivals.Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Ola John will take the numbers 29 and 15 respectively.
Borthwick-Jackson joined on loan from Manchester United earlier in the day.
Burnley striker heads out on loan
Burnley’s Rouwen Hennings is heading back to Germany for the remainder of the season after agreeing a loan deal with Fortuna Dusseldorf.The 28-year-old moved to Turf Moor last summer but failed to dislodge first-choice pair Sam Vokes and Andre Gray and scored just twice as Sean Dyche’s side were promoted back to the top flight.
Hennings’ record in the second-tier of German football earned him the move to England after he scored 18 times in 29 games to finish as the division’s top scorer in 2014-15.
He will now move back to that level with Fortuna, who are currently third in the Bundesliga 2 table.
Cuadrado close to Juve return
According to Juventus director of football Giuseppe Marotta, winger Juan Cuadrado is poised to return to the Serie A champions in the next couple of days.Marotta told Italian outlet Mediaset: “I hope that over the next few days we can conclude the Cuadrado deal
“For now he is a Chelsea player. We presented a proposal to them and are waiting for a response, but we are optimistic.”
The Colombia international arrived at Stamford Bridge from Fiorentina in January 2015 but struggled to make an impression on the first-team. He was sent out on loan last term to Juve and was successful, with the Old Lady now keen to bring him back.
Celtic boss Rodgers rubbishes Schweinsteiger link
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has poured cold water on reports linking him with a move for Manchester United outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger.The veteran midfielder is not part of United boss Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans and is set for an Old Trafford exit this summer.
Rodgers, however, feels that the 32-year-old is past his best and has lost his pace. Pressed on the matter while talking to the Glasgow Evening News, Rodgers said: “I don’t need a marquee signing that can’t run.” Ouch.
Chelsea eye move for Milan's Romagnoli
Chelsea have made an approach for AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli, according to the Daily Mail.The 21-year-old is rated highly in Italy and only joined Milan last summer in a £20million move from Roma.
Milan are reluctant to part company with one of their brightest prospects and will no doubt want to test Chelsea’s resolve when it comes to a fee.
Hennings returns to Germany on loan
Burnley striker Rouwen Hennings has been sent on loan to Dusseldorf for the remainder of the season. The 28-year-old, who has scored just two goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for the Clarets since his arrival from Karlruher, did not feature in boss Sean Dyche’s first-team plans.The former Germany Under 21 international was understood to be keen on leaving Turf Moor in order to rebuild his confidence and reputation.
Sissoko 'agrees personal terms' with Inter but trains with Newcastle?
France Football are claiming that wantaway Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko has agreed personal terms with Inter Milan.The 26-year-old, who impressed for France at Euro 2016 this summer, has openly courted a move away from Tyneside over the past few months.
He was criticised for his lack of consistency last term by some sections of Newcastle supporters as the club suffered a second relegation in seven years.
Sissoko has made it clear that he doesn’t want to play a part in Rafa Benitez’s promotion push but he was pictured in training at Benton on Monday afternoon. The plot thickens.
Manchester United reluctant to let Jones move on
Manchester United do not want to sell defender Phil Jones this summer.The England international has been subject of interest from Watford and Stoke City in recent weeks but United want to keep him as cover for Chris Smalling and Eric Bailly.
Jones joined United from Blackburn Rovers in 2011 and has since 141 appearances in all competitions for the club but he is no longer assured of a regular starting spot.
Hooper moves to Northampton on loan
Port Vale have confirmed that striker JJ Hooper has moved to Northampton Town on loan in a deal lasting until January.The 22-year-old will link up with his former manager Rob Page at Sixfields after the Valiants agreed to the move, subject to approval from the Football League.
Hooper has been in Vale’s starting line-up for their last three league games, but has played on the right of a front three rather than in his preferred centre forward role.
