MESSAGE:

For years, I have always felt a pull to praise and worship God as a means of appreciating Him and giving thanks to Him for daily kindness and blessings. It is a good thing to always give thanks to the Lord, because He is the owner of our lives and He created us for His pleasure. The Bible says, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord (Psalm 150:6).

There are so many ways we can thank the Lord for His mercies in our lives. One of the best ways is to praise and worship Him constantly. You don't need to be a music person to worship God. It all starts from your heart. You begin to recount His many blessings in your life and let your heart appreciate Him for His goodness. We worship God in songs, music, and even in our attitudes. We praise Him by lifting up our hands and singing praises to His holy name.

What is your favourite way to praise the Lord? Get a way that interests you to give thanks to God always. As a Christian, you are likely to have a sense of gratitude when you think about the power and greatness of God. Expressing those feelings is the beginning of giving thanks to the Lord.

You can thank the Lord by prayer of praises. This type of prayer starts by addressing God directly. You begin by recounting His personal attributes that make Him God: His mercy, power, faithfulness and righteousness. You continue to thank and praise Him for His numerous goodness to your life from birth, the grace that saved your soul from eternal damnation are all benefits we cannot thank God enough for all our lives. For by grace you were saved and not by any work you have done (Ephesians 2:9).

Ingratitude is the worst of vices. You must develop a lifestyle of praise until you become a praise in the earth. Appreciating God will make your life to be appreciated and increase the grace of God upon your life. When you are confronted with cares and worries in the world, remember the greatness and goodness of God in your life and your worries will become worship. In addition, thank Him for bringing you safely to the end of the year.

The issue of wholehearted trust in God can never be overemphasised, because God is ready to guide us in the right ways, give us His undeserved favour and keep His promises. In the most difficult times of our lives, we can commit our plans and situations to the Lord and trust Him to work things out for our best. Our own strength is limited, our wisdom is shallow, but He knows the best.

In our Fire Scripture, Jesus does not mean that it is wrong to plan and make provisions for future physical needs, but He is speaking against anxiety or worry that shows lack of faith in God's care and love. The words in the Fire Scripture contain God's promise to His children, including you the reader of this devotional. In this age of trouble and uncertainty, God has promised to provide our food, clothing and other necessities. God, according to His word, will assume full responsibility for those who are submitted entirely to His authority and purposes.

Beloved, even in warfare, David's wholehearted trust in the Lord of Hosts, the God of the army of Israel, gave him victory over Goliath when, by all indication, he was disadvantaged (1 Samuel 17:37; 49-55)

Have you not done things your own way? Have you not relied on your own wisdom? Are you not in a position of those who think God is too slow or that God will come late? Put your whole trust in Him; see Him in action in your situation and that mountain will become plain.

Beloved, you should pray to God to give you the grace to trust Him absolutely and wholeheartedly. This kind of trust births unquestioning, prompt and complete obedience to God's commandments. Wholehearted trust in God is also very rewarding. It is the secret of the exploits and success stories of Bible characters like Abraham, Enoch, David, Daniel, Ruth, Mary (the mother of Jesus), Sarah, Hannah, Elizabeth and the apostles. I pray that any stronghold preventing you from trusting God wholeheartedly shall collapse today, in the name of Jesus.

To trust in the Lord with all our heart is clearly the opposite of doubting and ignoring God and His word. This also includes surrendering our worries, fear and anxieties to Him. In our relationship with God, complete reliance is very vital because He has always proved Himself to be trustworthy.

We, as children of God, must know and be assured that our heavenly Father loves us and will faithfully care for us. He has done it before; He will still do it over and over again for as many times as it is required

Nahum 1:7 affirms, "The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in Him." He is ever ready to prove to us that we can rely on Him all the time (Matthew 10:32). Do you trust Him? His word has this to say, "Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrow." Jesus is here teaching that God's faithful followers -- His children -- are of the greatest worth to their heavenly Father.

We need to understand that part of the strategies of the enemy in these days is to blackmail the Almighty God by painting Him as a Father who is not interested in the welfare of His children. The enemy will also attack the foundation of our trust in God by attacking our hearts with fiery arrow of doubt. Please, don't be moved. Maintain your wholehearted trust in God.

Jesus means so many things to us: our Saviour, Healer and High Priest. A priest is a mediator between man and God. Before the fall, God and man had close fellowship with each other. Man was sinless and pure. But when Adam ate of the forbidden fruit, there comes a wall of separation between God and man. Out of His love for mankind, God initiated a way for reconciliation. God established priesthood. For a temporary fix, Moses ordained Aaron and his sons as priest. God's permanent fix was His Son. Jesus, by His crucifixion, death and resurrection has become our High Priest. He bridges the gap between God and fallen man. He is better qualified than the old High priest.

In the Old Testament, human High priests made atonement for the sins of people once in a year. Jesus, our great High Priest, with one sacrifice, made you and me perfect forever. He can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He understands our weakness. He knows what it feels to be hungry, to be thirsty, to be joyful, to be sorrowful, to be sad, to be angry, and to be betrayed by a friend.

Similarly, human high priests would offer a sacrifice for his own sin before he could make atonement for the sins of people. Jesus is worthy because He is sinless (Hebrews 7:26-27). Jesus is constantly in the presence of God. He made one sacrifice and it covered all sins (Hebrews 10:12).

What a consolation to know that you have access to God because all sins which separated you are removed. You don't need another individual to go into God's presence for you. Now we all have free and daily access to God by the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 10:19-23; Ephesians 2:18).

MESSAGE:

God was the first person to give out of His love for humanity. He gave all (John 3:16). Responsibility is laid on you as a child of God, redeemed and sanctified, to be like your Father in all things, including giving. The magnitude of your giving is a proof of your love to God (Mark 14:3).

Accounts from the Fire Scriptures (2 Corinthians 8:1-9) show how Apostle Paul was boasting about the giving grace of the Macedonian church. It is clear from this passage that no one is too poor to give. You can give out of poverty. Giving must be from a willing heart (2 Corinthians 9:7). It is part of your service to God. You must give yourself to God first and to the church before giving your substance. Giving is an act of love for God and the brethren. It is the demonstration of God's grace in your life. It is also an act of faith and worship. Jesus showed us the greatest example of this when He offered up Himself to save us sinners (John 10:18).

Beloved, you and I need to do some soul searching today. Why do you give? Is your giving a conscious act of faith in Jesus? Are you inspired to give out of love like the Macedonian church or you are being compelled to give? If you want to be like your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:45), then repent of the time you were compelled or cajoled to give. Change your motive about giving and begin to give from today out of love for God and your fellow brethren. Jesus gave all to buy you and me back. You must recognise that everything you have belongs to the Lord and give them to Him willingly.

A life that is not surrendered to Jesus is not qualified to give to God. The sacrifice of the wicked is unacceptable to God (Proverbs 15:8a). As you learnt from the Macedonian church, you must surrender your life to God first before giving your substance. This is another opportunity to be reconciled with your Maker.

In all ages and generations, God looks for righteous men and women to serve Him. When God saw how great the wickedness of man was upon the surface of the earth and that his imagination was evil continually, He found Noah and used him as a vessel to propagate His word at that time. Noah had the spirit of watchfulness. He created time to tell people about the flood, but they were not watchful until the day when the rain began.

Are you still in the group of careless Christians that do not believe about the word of God and His prophets? Are you still procrastinating that you will do God's bidding another time? God is merciful. The Bible says that His mercy endures forever. You have to be watchful so that the plan of God for your life will manifest.

The ten virgins in the Parable of Ten Virgins belonged to two categories. The first category comprised the wise virgins who were watchful. They prepared themselves for the bridegroom. When they were coming to the presence of the Lord, they brought with them extra oil. Oil illuminates, strengthens and anoints for greater power. They were watchful. They got prepared when the bridegroom entered; the extra oil gave them boldness to carry on. What are your preparations as a Christian? Are you watchful?

There are several things to be watchful for as an end-time Christian. First, be watchful for temptation. In Matthew 26:41a, Jesus told His disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation." The second thing to be watchful for is the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Another thing believers should be watchful for is life of wisdom. Your life must be filled with the wisdom of God. I mean the wisdom from above not worldly wisdom. Whenever you apply divine wisdom, people will testify that the Spirit of God dwells in you.

In your daily activities, you must be watchful. To be watchful is simply to look out for something, watch our steps as we are walking, talking and most importantly to remember that we are in a battle. In 1 Peter 5:8, the Bible enjoins us to be sober and vigilant because our adversary, the devil, moves about roaring and seeking whom he may devour. Be wise. Watch and pray!

I pray the spirit of watchfulness will envelop your life, in Jesus' name.

Grace is God's unmerited favour bestowed on man. It is a quality of behaviour that is polite and pleasant and deserves respect. When God's grace is at work, it enables a person to get good things that he or she does not deserve. Mercy, on the other hand ensures that a person does not get the judgement or punishment he or she deserves.

It is true that grace cannot be withheld from man, but this does not prove that there are no conditions men must meet in order to get the benefits of grace. The grace God gave to mankind is unconditional grace. His main obligation of grace is to the saints who walk in light of the gospel. He is not under obligation to sinners until they come to full obedience of the gospel.

Paul said when we are yet sinners, Christ died for us. This is great and unmerited grace. Even the Christianity of today cannot be compared with when we were not in this dispensation of grace. Today, grace is being abused and we have taken it with levity.

Grace teaches men to deny ungodliness and worldly lust and to live soberly and righteously. If you are still struggling with the world, it means you have received grace in vain. When Christ left the earth, the Holy Spirit poured out at Pentecost. The Old Testament calls Him the Spirit of grace and supplications. It is this Spirit who also convicts us of sin and reveals us to God's righteousness and judgement.

The Spirit also helps our infirmities. Christ set you free from slavery to sin; He purchased your freedom with His life. Perhaps you have separated yourself from God, you have repeatedly fallen to the ground several times or perhaps the weight of your sin is too heavy for you. The grace of God that brings salvation is still available today. Cry to God daily for fresh supply of His grace.

Beloved, do not take the grace of God for granted. His grace is matchless, ever-increasing and ever-sufficient for His children. It can make a world of difference in your life if you cooperate with Him and walk in His will. Moses came with the law but Jesus came with grace and truth. Let His grace count in your life.

In 1 Peter 1:16, we read: "Be ye holy, for I am holy." Holiness is the non-negotiable agenda of God for all His redeemed ones. It is generally connected with God's perfection and beauty. It is the only valid ticket to see God and to experience all He has destined for you. Then after your sojourn here, you are sure of seeing Him in glory. Without holiness, you cannot see God; you cannot see His glory; you cannot see His beauty; you cannot see His power; you cannot see His goodness; you cannot see the fullness of His manifestation in your life and in everything that concerns you.

Always remember that without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Do you want to see God in action on your behalf? Then make the pursuit of holiness your central focus. In our world today, many Christians are living carelessly without any recourse to holiness. Please, don't follow them. Beloved, I want to ask you. What is the essence of going to church, calling yourself a believer without enjoying all that He has for you now and not also seeing Him in glory after your sojourn here?

Holiness is God's goal for our lives. Without this transformation, we cannot be saved at the end. God cannot co-exist with sin, and for you to enjoy fellowship with Him, you must be without sin and put on the garment of holiness perpetually.

Beloved, holiness is achievable through the help of the Holy Spirit, and by avoiding every form of sin, living a disciplined life, praying always and by commitment to living by the standard of the word of God.

MESSAGE:

There are three key future events that comprise God's distinct prophetic plan for the Church: the rapture, the judgement seat of Christ and the marriage of the Lamb.

The Church consists of all faithful believers from all time. The Parable of the ten virgins clarifies what it means to prepare for the coming of the bridegroom. The virgins were waiting and hoped to take part in the wedding banquet. The groom didn't come at the expected time, five of the virgins prepared while the other five didn't. The five that did not prepare ran out of oil. By the time they wanted to purchase oil, it was too late to join the feast.

This tells us that when Jesus returns to take His people to heaven, you and I must be prepared and be ready. Our relationship with our Maker must be taken as our own responsibility. If you fail to prepare, there is no excuse.

The Church will be caught up to the Father's house and each believer will be rewarded. The bride will be presented to her Bridegroom. All these will happen before the Church returns with Christ to earth at His second coming.

The Bible calls it the Marriage of the Lamb, when our Lord Jesus Christ is joined to His bride, the Church in heaven. This was the price Jesus paid at Calvary, the death of the cross. It gave Him the opportunity to go to the grave to collect the key of death from satan. He went back to heaven to prepare a place for us.

He promised that in His Father's house there are many mansions. He added that He would go and prepare a place for us all, that where He is, we should be there also (John 14:1-3).

If not for His death on the cross, none would have had the advantage to prepare for the great wedding. This is the next great event in heaven that will take place after the reviewing and rewarding of the saints at the Judgement Seat of Christ.

Beloved, without your preparation you might lose the great event. How do you prepare? Focus on God's will for your life. Don't worry about anything, instead pray. Thank God always. Run away from sin. Repentance and forgiveness is essential.

As you prepare, the presence of God will envelope you always.

You are complete in Christ. Remember, no matter what you face in life, don't let go if God's hand is in it.

MESSAGE:

Dominion means to bear the rule, to exercise authority and to impose your place over opposition. It means to be in charge. It is existence in the realm of triumph and victory. So, to be in dominion is to be a stranger to defeat because dominion gives a person the power to exert control over his territory. From the Scripture above, you see that when a person has dominion, he gains the capacity to rule. On the contrary, when a person lacks dominion, he becomes a victim of oppression. Reigning is the picture of dominion.

Many years ago, Paul Yonggi Cho was trying to cast out a demon from someone. He said he did everything he could but the devil remained. All of a sudden, he got a flash of light in his spirit and he told the demon, "Demon, you have to go out now. Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ defeated you on my behalf and I stand in his shoes to ask you to get out." The demon replied with something like, "Hold on, hold on. I will go, but please do not tell anyone this secret because many people are not aware of it." Then the demon left.

If you are not in power, you are not in charge. Jesus was dominion personified. You need power to live a hurt-free life. Beloved, it is the knowledge of whose you are and who you are that gives you dominion in life.

How can you access dominion? Be born again (John 3:3, John 1:12). Take hold of the word of God (Psalm 110:2; Ecclesiastes 8:4). Have faith in God. Jesus said that if you have faith you will say to a sycamine tree, be plucked by your root and be planted in the sea and it shall obey you (Luke 17:6). Finally, you can access dominion through effectual fervent prayer (Psalm 63; Isaiah 66:7-8).

The bottom line is that God gave mankind dominion over all the earth and everything that creepeth on it. You have dominion over them through the authority of God's word. I challenge you to make a decision to do what Jesus commanded you to do and let your faith in God's word be manifest in your life daily.
